Happy New Year

What a year 2017 has been! We started this Meetup group in San Francisco less than a year ago…and with almost 400 members strong we’ve brought together Corgs and their pawrents for fun events and activities every month. We are so grateful for everyone that has supported our Meetup group, looking forward to seeing you all at upcoming events in 2018! #2017bestnine #everyonecorg #corgisofinstagram #corgisofsanfrancisco #corgination

A Year Gone By

What a year this has been. After making the move to SF in September, and unable to track down a Corgi Meetup group in San Francisco…I created a group on Meetup for Everyone Loves a Corgi in December, and scheduled our first Meetup at Mission Bay Dog Park. I’d be lying if I said I didn’t have reservations, or doubts. “What if nobody shows up?” or “What if they don’t like us?”

Boy was I wrong. In the short year since this group has been in existence our membership has grown to close to 400 members. We’ve arranged events and activities from sheep herding in Santa Rosa, marching in the parade at SF Pride, QBSDR fundraisers and hikes spanning venues from the East Bay to those overlooking the Golden Gate Bridge.

Unimaginable.

I am amazed at what we’ve built, the Corgs we’ve met, and the friends we’ve made. The Corgi community is very special, that is very true – and it is that community that has played a big role in helping us make SF really feel like home. Thank you to all of our members that have attended our events, or simply follow us on Instagram.

Lia and I look forward to planning more events in 2018, and to bringing the Bay Area Corgi community even closer together. Maybe a year from now I’ll be able to say we hit the 1,000 member mark? Possible.

Thank You! Here’s to 2018!

Happy New Year!

Happy Corgs-giving!

Happy Thanksgiving to all of the Corgs and pawrents that have supported our Meetup group this year!

I’m sure you’ve looked at your Corg’s happy faces and think to yourself how much you love, love, LOVE that little Corg – and how thankful you are to have them in your lives (I sure do)!

This Thanksgiving, I am very thankful for my little “love bucket” Lia, and am very thankful for each of you; the members of ourΒ group. We now have over 300 members in our group, and that number continues to grow with every new puppy that attends our events.

I have met some great people through these events – and yes it is possible to make friends with the pawrents just as much as your Corgs do! The Corgi community in the Bay Area is very special, and I’m glad to have helped bring the community together to make that “Corgi magic” happen all year round.

This year we’ve done events that included hikes in the East Bay, frapping at Crissy Field and Fort Funston, herding sheep in Santa Rosa, marching at SF Pride and fundraising to support Queen’s Best Stumpy Dog Rescue.

Our next event is on Saturday, December 16th with a holiday hike at Lands End. We’re currently at capacity but are maintaining a waiting list. While this venue doesn’t have any specific capacity restrictions I prefer to keep the group a little smaller when on highly trafficked shared trails.

Thanks again for continuing to support our events, and I look forward to seeing you next month!

Happy Thanksgiving!

Derek & Lia
