Meet Lia, our Founder-in-Chief

I probably wouldn’t have started this group if it weren’t for her. When I moved to the city in 2016, I was really surprised that there weren’t any regularly scheduled corgi meetups in San Francisco. Lia at the time was just over a year old, and I really wanted her to meet and socialize with other corgis in the area. Of course this would also be a great way for me to meet people being new to the city and all.

A few months later I decided to create this group and scheduled our first meetup at the Mission Bay dog park. It was a small turnout, but Lia quickly became friends with all of the corgis that showed up. Fun fact, this is also where Lia met her BFF, her one and only @Swayzebear.

To this day, I love this group and the many friendships I’ve made with corgis and their parents. I guess you can say what started out as needing a social outlet for Lia turned it to be great for both of us.
